Karen Davis, aged 38 and from Australia, purposely flashed her boobs for the Google Street View car and has now being charged by the police for public indecency.
Davis welcomed her momentary Internet fame with pride, telling the Adelaide Advertiser that she had “[ticked] something else off [her] bucket list”, “met Sam Newman” and is now featured on Google Maps.
The police, however, disagreed, explaining, “The woman’s actions were the same as someone flashing their genitals and the expectation is that we take action. It isn’t appropriate for anyone to expose themselves… Our community should be able to expect decency”.
Davis still sees no harm, telling her local paper: “There was no child harmed in the making, my children don’t have to go to therapy because of it, I didn’t give any old man a heart attack — that I’m aware of. I spoke to my 19-year old son before and he thinks it’s funny as, my children don’t have a problem with it at all.”
“I’m going to try and go to court with a straight face and try not to laugh – I think it is a bit hilarious because it is so low scale in the criminal world”. Davis also plans a topless skydive for her 40th birthday next year.
Google initially just censored Davis’s breasts, but have now blurred her out entirely.
