A man in northern New Jersey in the US added lighter fluid and gasoline to his cake batter, resulting in a visit from both police and firefighters.
Normally birthday cakes just consist of flour, butter, sugar, and eggs, but this Jersey man decided it would be a good idea to also had some extras.
The responding police officer, Chief David Pegg, noted the man had added gasoline and lighter fluid to his cake in order to film a YouTube video of a burning cake.
The man appeared angry when officials arrived and demanded they leave, as he had contained most of the fire himself and did not think he needed any help. Luckily, the fire was contained to the kitchen table.
Needless to say, it’s probably the best idea to just stick to the recipe.
