A man in the state of Washington tried to fool the system by putting a cardboard cutout of Jonathan Goldsmith in his passenger seat, so that he would be able to use the carpool lane.

A carpool lane or HOV lane (‘High Occupancy Vehicle’) can only be used when there are two or more people in the car in an effort to get more patrons to carpool in order to minimize traffic.

The cardboard cutout used was that of Jonathan Goldsmith – ‘the Most Interesting Man in the World’ and the face of commercials for the beer, Dos Equis.

But state trooper, Trooper Guy Gill, could not be fooled, as the face was all too familiar. When he pulled the man in question over for what can only be construed as carpool fraud, the man replied with a cheeky smile, saying, “He’s my best friend”.
