{"id":464,"date":"2015-08-21T11:43:25","date_gmt":"2015-08-21T11:43:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oddballnews.com\/?p=464"},"modified":"2022-10-25T17:24:41","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T17:24:41","slug":"worlds-first-sky-pool-comes-to-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oddballnews.com\/worlds-first-sky-pool-comes-to-london\/","title":{"rendered":"World\u2019s First \u2018Sky Pool\u2019 Comes to London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Developers are planning to build a \u2018sky pool\u2019 \u2013 an all glass swimming bridge \u2013 to connect two residential buildings at a new development in Battersea within London.<\/p>\n<p>The Irish company, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ballymoregroup.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ballymore<\/a>, is introducing the world\u2019s first swimming pool bridge, linking the tops of two 10-storey towers. The swimming pool will be 25-metres long, allowing swimmers to look down from 35-metres up.<\/p>\n<p>The pool is being designed by Eckersley O\u2019Callaghan and will be constructed out of 20cm thick glass sheets.<\/p>\n<p>The pool will also be connected to luxury rooftop gardens in a development project called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.embassygardens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Embassy Gardens<\/a> at Nine Elms just near Battersea power station. The entire development project will cost around \u00a31 billion and will consist of 2,000 luxury flats, which will have views of the new US Embassy.
