Developers are planning to build a ‘sky pool’ – an all glass swimming bridge – to connect two residential buildings at a new development in Battersea within London.

The Irish company, Ballymore, is introducing the world’s first swimming pool bridge, linking the tops of two 10-storey towers. The swimming pool will be 25-metres long, allowing swimmers to look down from 35-metres up.

The pool is being designed by Eckersley O’Callaghan and will be constructed out of 20cm thick glass sheets.

The pool will also be connected to luxury rooftop gardens in a development project called Embassy Gardens at Nine Elms just near Battersea power station. The entire development project will cost around £1 billion and will consist of 2,000 luxury flats, which will have views of the new US Embassy. They hope to complete the project by mid 2019.
