During a trip to Naples, the Pope received an unexpected surprise in the form of a pizza from a stranger in the crowd.
After an interview with a Mexican TV channel, Pope Francis had claimed: “The only thing I would like is to go out one day, without being recognised, and go to a pizzeria for a pizza.”
Pizza maker, Enzo Cacialli, decided to take matters into his own hands and just as the Popemobile whizzed past during a visit to his town of Naples, he ran alongside the vehicle to deliver a little slice of Heaven to the Pope.
The Pope seemed to happily accept the pizza, but it is unclear whether or not he actually ate it.
Mr. Cacialli noted that he used yellow tomatoes instead of red to reflect the colours of the Holy See – the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Catholic Church.
