Unbeknownst to Aldi, the large supermarket chain received a 300kg shipment of cocaine, hidden in banana boxes.

The drugs were discovered by shop workers in 13 stores across Berlin in Germany.

The estimated value of the cocaine is approximately £11 million and police officers are scouring other stores to make sure they have not missed any.

This is actually the second time cocaine has been discovered in Berlin Aldi stores, as £5 million worth of cocaine was discovered in January, as well.

The police state the incidents were merely “logical” mistakes, as the shipment, which originated from Colombia, was sent to the busy port of Hamburg where the cocaine was most likely put into Aldi containers by error.
